Seatmate connects riders and drivers who want to share a car ride between Islamabad and Rawalpindi. This page explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it's handled. We've kept it in plain language on purpose — if anything is unclear, email us at privacy@seatmate.codes.

To send your one-time passcode, we use Twilio, which delivers the code by SMS or by WhatsApp (a Meta platform). If your code arrives via WhatsApp, Meta's infrastructure is used to deliver that single message — Meta does not gain access to your Seatmate account, your rides, or your location, and we do not use WhatsApp for anything beyond OTP delivery.
Seatmate only accesses your precise location while you have an active ride — to help match you with a driver or rider nearby, to draw your route on the map, and (if you choose to add an emergency contact) to share your position during an SOS alert. We do not track your location in the background or when you're not actively using the app.
Your information is stored on our backend (Supabase), transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), and access is limited to what's needed to run the service. Ride history and profile data are kept for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, this data is removed — see our data deletion page for how.
We don't sell your personal data. We share only what's needed to run the app, with:
We may also share information if legally required to — for example, in response to a lawful request from a transport authority in Islamabad or Rawalpindi.
Seatmate is for people 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll update the effective date above and let you know inside the app.
